Kai Wynter is the founder and Creative Director of Ninth Orbit Studios.

A lifelong storyteller, Kai spent much of her childhood happily immersed in books, writing her first collection of stories while still in elementary school. That early fascination with imagination evolved into a lifelong exploration of storytelling across multiple disciplines. Throughout her teenage years and adulthood, she studied film and philosophy, composed music, practiced Tribal Fusion belly dance, explored game design, and cultivated interests spanning mythology, psychology, technology, history, and the sciences.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and Creative Writing from Southern New Hampshire University and later completed a Master of Science in Information Technology at the University of Cincinnati. Along the way, she immersed herself in a wide range of professional fields, academic disciplines, and creative communities, each contributing new perspectives on how people construct meaning, navigate change, and imagine worlds beyond their own.

These experiences shape the creative vision of Ninth Orbit Studios, where emotionally grounded characters, immersive worldbuilding, and speculative ideas intersect across novels, performances, and archival projects. Her work is driven by a fascination with liminal spaces—those moments where reality meets myth, science meets imagination, and ordinary lives encounter extraordinary possibilities.
